Tillage system and cover crop effects on organic carbon and available nutrient contents in light chestnut soil

چکیده

Optimal use of management systems including tillage and cover crops are recommended to improve available nutrient contents in soils sustain agricultural production. The effects on organic carbon three methods (conventional tillage, minimum no-tillage) different such as flaxseed oil, buckwheat, soybean, pea, corn, sorghum, spring oilseed rape sugar beet were evaluated a short-term experiment light chestnut soil Kazakhstan. Organic measured the autumn 2021. field measurements included yield input matter into with root other residues crops. In laboratory, total carbon, labile easily hydrolyzable nitrogen (NH4-N), NO3-N, P exchangeable K measured. results showed that one season crop growth was not enough find detectable changes status soils. On hand, even period 3 months, most obtained conventional tillage. Overall, show at least short term under lower drip irrigation rate summer for study area, reduced (no-tillage tillage) is suitable area corn production after intensive previous year.

Modelling tillage and nitrogen fertilization effects on soil organic carbon

1 Agricultural management plays an important role in global warming mitigation due to 2 its effects on soil organic carbon (SOC) dynamics. In Mediterranean agroecosystems, 3 the interactive effects of tillage and N fertilization on SOC storage have scarcely been 4 studied. Hence, we here present a modelling study in which the effects of both tillage 5 and N fertilization on SOC dynamics are inv...

Tillage and crop residue effects on soil carbon and carbon dioxide emission in corn-soybean rotations.

Soil C change and CO2 emission due to different tillage systems need to be evaluated to encourage the adoption of conservation practices to sustain soil productivity and protect the environment. We hypothesize that soil C storage and CO2 emission respond to conservation tillage differently from conventional tillage because of their differential effects on soil properties. This study was conduct...

Remote sensing of crop residue cover and soil tillage intensity

Management of plant litter or crop residues in agricultural fields is an important consideration for reducing soil erosion and increasing soil organic C. Current methods of quantifying crop residue cover are inadequate for characterizing the spatial variability of residue cover within fields or across large regions. Our objectives were to evaluate several spectral indices for measuring crop res...
